Music Mix USA is seen on over 25 CBS, NBC, FOX, and MyTV affiliates around the country as well as nationally Direct TV (MYX channel 2067) and the AMG Network. This particular episode featured music videos from numerous different artists including “These Green Eyes”, “Jakob Dylan (The Wallflowers), “Pop Evil”, “Joseph A. That’s all the news for now…stay tuned as there is more exciting stuff to come!!! 1/24/2009 - Two Years In The Making… A Long Awaited New Album… Hello everybody. I know it has been a long time since I came out with any new music so I thought it was about time that I updated everybody on what’s been going on in that department. Musically, I had kind of become a recluse and have been secretly recording my new album “Lines 12,9,14,5,19” in the process of that seclusion since around May of 2007. Besides the 2008 making of the “Matter of Opinion” Music Video, I had kept this bigger project (“Lines 12,9,14,5,19”) a secret because I wasn’t sure if I was ever going make it up to releasing it. But I am happy to say now that it is in its final stages and I’m estimating a release date sometime in the near future. “Lines 12,9,14,5,19” is my biggest production effort to date. As always, I play all of the instruments and do all the vocals on this album. And to tell you the truth, musically, it has a lot more instrumentation than my previous two albums. I pretty much go all out. Plus lyrically, all of you deep thinkers will definitely appreciate the fact that “Lines 12,9,14,5,19” is an infinite coded message within a coded message consisting of numbers, letters, and words. The cover art and track number 8 “The Mental Exercise Of Reading Lives” will explain it all. And also genre wise, while this album still remains truly original, it is definitely recommended if you like bands such as The Deftones, Rise Against, Incubus, Glassjaw, 30 Seconds to Mars, Shelter, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Rollins Band, Don Caballero, Thursday, From Autumn to Ashes, Snapcase, Staind, Slipknot, The Used, Jimmy Eat World, Finch, Mudvayne, Hopesfall, Stone Sour, Hum, System of a Down, Taproot, and Dashboard Confessional (HaHa you know I had to throw in an acoustic song!) But anyways, beginning the story of the recording process, I recorded this album with long time friend/studio engineer Mitch Wyatt at Sounds Underground Studios in Trenton, OH. Now Mitch and I have been working together since about 2003 with the recording of my first album “The Acoustic Diaries”. He has also recorded many local favorites such as Ellison, Kristen Key, and JT Woodruff of Hawthorne Heights. He is a fantastic engineer and I really enjoyed/recommend working with him. He really knows his stuff! Then after the recording process was finished, it was on to mastering with long time mastering engineer Alan Douches of West West Side Music in New Windsor, NY. Alan has mastered some of my favorite bands including The Dillinger Escape Plan, Don Caballero, and Snapcase. He’s also mastered many other bands that you’ve probably heard of such as Fallout Boy, Converge, Everytime I Die, Yes, Against Me!, Between The Buried And Me, the list goes on and on. If it sounds good, he’s probably done it. Now I’ve had the pleasure of working with Alan and he was a really cool dude! He knew exactly how to make this album sound as best as it possibly could and that’s what he did. So all in all, I’m really excited to show all of you! Hell yeah! So be prepared… “Lines 12,9,14,5,19” the infinitely coded album is coming in 2009! Along with a new lyrics page on josephaperagine.com (which I will be posting before the album’s release to give you a preview), more radio airplay, more magazine reviews/interviews, and more television broadcasts for the “Matter of Opinion” Music Video, I promise you that! Why stop now? Let’s see how far we can take this! “Lines 12,9,14,5,19” in 2009! FECK YESSSSS!!! Sincerely, | Joseph A. Peragine | Enigarep A. Hpesoj |
1/2/2009 - Hello Everybody! Happy New Year 2009! I’ve decided to add the “News” page back to my website by popular demand. Hell yeah! So I know it’s been a while (about late 2006) since I last updated everybody on what’s been going on, so I will pick up where this news page left off and give you a brief (as brief as I can be) summary on the tons of stuff that has been going on since then: First off, as you may have noticed, my website got a complete makeover. I took away a lot of old pages and added a bunch of new pages. So feel free to browse if you haven’t already. Now onto the music news: So under my newly formed DIY one-man indie label (3-fi Enterprises LLC), I released in (November of 2006) my second album “Self-Medication…Poems of Alienation” and documentary video “Artist Profile: Joseph A. Peragine” complete with my first official press release. This press release can be viewed on the new “PR” page of my website. Now as far as the album and the video goes, I’m happy to say that after their initial release, they both received quite an amount of positive feedback. I have so far been reviewed and interviewed in about 20 different magazines across the globe and am still continuing to receive recognition. Which means that these numbers will be continuously growing. Most of these reviews/interviews can be viewed on the new “Reviews/Interviews” page of my website if you would like to check them out. Now this page is continuously being updated so check back often. Plus, most recently (this week actually), in addition to being featured in the latest issue of DigThisReal magazine, my song “Suicide Countdown” from “Self-Medication… Poems of Alienation” is being featured on the DigThisReal compilation Cd as well! This is my first comp feature so as you can imagine I ‘m really excited about it! It just dropped in stores yesterday so if you see it please pick up a copy of the mag and the comp as well. I will be doing the same! Also throughout 2005 -2008, we have also reached the radio waves with “The Acoustic Diaries” and “Self Medication…Poems of Alienation” all together receiving airplay on a total of about 50 college and internet radio stations and this number is continuously growing as well. Also, I forgot to mention way back when that “The Acoustic Diaries” had made the "Top 20" for the month of May 2005 on KCSN "Arts and Roots Radio" in California. But anyway, back to more recent radio-type news (early 2008), I also participated in a couple of live podcast interviews with Streetblast Radio and Juniors Cave Magazine which can also be viewed on the front page of my website. Just click on the “Streetblast” and “Juniors Cave” logos to check them out. In addition, back tracking about 6 months ago (July of 2008), at the request of a major cable network (Fuse on demand) I had made my first music video for an old Acoustic Diaries favorite, the song “Matter of Opinion”. Now unfortunately, from being a victim of circumstance, the video never ended up airing on Fuse, (which I have no hard feelings about because I was grateful enough to even be considered by them) but so far, through what I have been told by the other networks I submitted to, both of my videos have been aired on a music video podcast called the Eclectic Show, a TV show throughout the state of Pennsylvania called The Underground TV, a cable on demand show called MashUp, and most recently (today actually) my documentary video will be airing on Skope TV for the duration of this month of January. The number of networks for both videos will be continuously growing as well so stay tuned. Also as a footnote, we can only hope that if my numbers do keep growing, Fuse will eventually have a change of heart, which would be totally awesome. Until then I’m going to try my best to get it out there. Now in closing, some kinda funny, and kinda cool news: First the cool news, so everyday I Yahoo! And Google search “Joseph A. Peragine” in quotations to see what new stuff I pop up on. And most recently, a magazine called Marquee Magazine had done a review/interview with one of my main inspirations “Henry Rollins”. Wait, here’s when it gets good… under the article there was a little tag advertising Rollins saying that he is recommended if you like artists such as Saul Williams, Jello Biafra, and yes that’s right…Me… Joseph A. Peragine!!! Isn’t that sooo cool!?!? When I saw this I was like… WWWWWHAT!!!! It was so effin awesome to be grouped with Rollins! Needless to say after that I emailed the magazine thanking them for the mention. And now onto the kinda funny news. This little tid bit was also found by Yahoo! and Googling myself. So first let me give you a little background. About 4 years ago I had pressed 500 copies of a 3-song Cd single from “The Acoustic Diares” and sent it out to a butt load of radio stations. I also pass them out for free when I speak at local high schools about schizophrenia. Well, I just saw the other day that some person from North Carolina is selling one of those singles on e-Bay as a rare-edition Joseph A. Peragine for $2.95! Can you believe that! I thought it was so cool! I’m on e-Bay! Yessss!! (HaHa) So if you’re on e-Bay and you happen to catch that, Please bid on it! See how much you can get it for it! Let’s give this person some business!! HaHa too funny! Well anyway, that is all the news for now. (I tried to be as brief as I could! HaHa) So now I promise that I will definitely continue to post news updates as more cool stuff happens. Until then, Happy New Year Everybody! Let’s make it a good one!

1/31/2006 - Hello Everybody!!! Here's the latest. I've recently headed back into the studio to begin recording my next album. It's coming along pretty well so far. I'm very excited to see how the whole thing will turn out. I'm not going to give too much away but it promises to be very different from "The Acoustic Diaries". In a good way!!! So I'm guessing right now that it won't be complete until probably the summer or late fall but I will keep everybody updated on that. So since I'm really concentrating on recording along with a few other exciting things that I have in the works (details will come later), I will be taking a break from playing shows for a while so I can really concentrate on that stuff. However, even though I won't be playing any shows, I will be doing some speaking/open discussions at some high school psychology classes where I will be talking about my experiences with schizophrenia in relation to my music so I'm very excited about that. I hope it will all go well. Man, it's funny I haven't set foot in a high school since I raised hell in my own back when I was a teenager. HaHa. It will definitely be interesting. I'll keep you posted!!!
